Our family stories matter. They help us remember who we are, where we came from and why it is important. Voices in the Valley begins a new series on How to Capture your Family Stories and Preserve your Family Legacy  with this episode on recording your family’s medical history. On a quest to find her ancestors,  Steph calls Sweden, fails in the attempt; but, all is not lost. She, Jenna and Dina laugh their way through the try.  Dr. Chuck Bransford explains to student host Blake that when it comes to health, the more you know the better. By tracking your family’s medical history, at what age disease struck and how common the illness was, individuals can be empowered to better take care of themselves.

Next week on Voices in the Valley, our “How to Capture Your Family Stories and Preserve Your Family Legacy” continues. Steph interviews genealogist Rhonda Serafini Dunlap on how to research your family tree and local resident Judd Orff shares stories with his grandson Eric. Voices in the Valley can be heard every Saturday morning at 10:00 on KLBB 1220 AM.
