The Problem
- Studies show 53% of youth aged 12-20 feel isolated and struggle to find a sense of belonging.
- Without a safe and supportive community and space to find their voice, youth are unable to recognize that their voices matter.
- A feeling of isolation and lack of belonging can significantly harm a student’s mental health, often leading to increased anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and poor academic performance.
The Solution
At StoryArk, classroom and afterschool programs are created for self-discovery, connection, and empathy to help students overcome their feelings of isolation. Students realize, often for the first time, that their voice matters.
In StoryArk programs, students report feelings of isolation and anxiety diminish.
StoryArk programs give students fun tools in a safe environment to identify their creativity and learn about themselves. Through storytelling, podcasts, art, music, and writing, they explore their culture, values, and leadership skills. Students learn about their peers and diverse perspectives while developing life-changing tools to become compassionate, culturally responsive leaders.
Together, we can help students step into their potential as empathetic leaders – ready to make a difference in their schools and communities.
